Solving Two-Step Equations

Objectives:
  • Solve for an unknown value in two-step equations.
  • Check your work by plugging your answer into the original two-step equation.

What is a two-step equation?
You have already solved one-step equations and learned that it only took one inverse operation to solve for the unknown value. Similarly, a "two-step" equation takes two inverse operations to solve for the unknown value in the equation.
