Greatest Common Factor (GCF)

Objectives:
  • Determine the greatest common factor of two or more numbers.

What is GCF?
GCF stands for greatest common factor. Given two or more numbers, the greatest common factor is the largest number that is a factor of each number. 

Finding the Greatest Common Factor of Two Numbers:
We can find the greatest common factor of two or more numbers by listing out the factors of each number. We will compare the lists together and find the largest factor that they have in common.

Finding the Greatest Common Factor of Three Numbers:
We can also find the greatest common factor given more than two numbers. In the example below, we are given three numbers. We will follow the same steps by listing the factors of each given number.
